BGCT has always aimed to support rural NGOs with specialised knowledge to address children with Developmental Delay. We were fortunate to have IDFC FIRST Bank coming forward to collaborate and co-create our strategy to reach many more individuals in the rural settings.

The main objective in the 1st year of the program was to provide a capacity building program to run a structured Early Intervention Unit with 20 children. We listed a number of NGOs from different parts of Karnataka. After survey visits and due diligence, we began our journey with Vatsalya Trust in Hospete.

The Aadhar Outreach Program was officially inaugurated on 13 September, 2019 with the Guests of Honour Mr. Mathew, Ms. Rachana Iyer and Ms. Vidhi Singh from IDFC FIRST Bank, Board members of BGCT and the entire team, Director and staff of Vatsalya Trust, our first pilot partner organization.

IDFC FIRST Bank has been a pivotal component in ideation and strategy planning along with financial support.

On 4 December, 2019, we had the inauguration of the Early Intervention Unit, in Hospete, Karnataka, assisted by BGCT team. Rachana Iyer (Head, Corporate Social Responsibility) and Vidhi Singh (Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility) was part of the event along with the presence of local dignitaries. Our first pilot program showed great potential and successful completion with commendable progress at the child, parent empowerment, staff empowerment and organization development for Vatsalya Trust, Hospete.

In August 2020, the world was impacted by COVID19 and we needed to rework on our strategy for Aadhar Outreach program. We worked in tandem with the IDFC FIRST CSR team to co-create the program ensuring Monitoring & Evaluation strategies to scale digitally.

Our program took a turn in the 'new normal" under our strategic and funding partner IDFC FIRST Bank for 2020-2021. We focused on providing a digital capacity building program to empower the staff and organization to run structured Primary Intervention Units for children upto 10 years with Developmental delay.
