Our In-House Workstation
Building Skill Competencies and Socially Valued Roles
The in-house workstation at Pragati provides a structured and supportive environment where graduates can:
-
Work in a dedicated space that enables them to contribute meaningfully to society and earn a livelihood
-
Continue learning, developing skills, and growing in confidence
-
Feel a sense of belonging as valued members of the BGCT community
-
Engage with the wider community through creative expression, production work, and collaboration

The workstation was inaugurated on 15 August 2022, marking the successful completion of training for our first batch of trainees. On this milestone day, our graduates proudly stepped into their new roles as interns at the workstation.
Our interns spend productive and fulfilling days working on live projects aligned with their individual skill competencies. They take responsibility for completing orders received by our production units, contributing to real outcomes and timelines.
Interns currently work in roles such as:
-
Proofreaders
-
Data research and reporting assistants
-
Mosaic artists
-
Hand block printers
-
Assistants within various production units
Through these roles, our interns experience the pride of being productive, earning members of their families and contributing members of society.

Mainstream Employment and Internships
In addition to our in-house workstation, we actively seek collaborations with organisations that support inclusive employment. Our aim is to place graduates in suitable job roles that match their abilities and interests.
Internships in mainstream settings provide valuable opportunities for our graduates to:
-
Apply job-related skills in real work environments
-
Develop workplace behaviours and routines
-
Build confidence in navigating professional settings
-
Transition gradually towards sustained employment
Through these multiple pathways, Pragati remains committed to creating meaningful, dignified, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for young adults with disabilities.
