Outreach
At Biswa Gouri Charitable Trust, we believe that where a child lives should never limit their potential to grow. Our Outreach Wing bridges the gap between urban resources and rural needs by partnering with grassroots organizations to deliver specialized care for children with developmental disabilities. Rather than focusing solely on the student, we create a holistic ecosystem that upskills local teachers, counsels families toward acceptance, and strengthens partner NGOs to function independently. Through initiatives ranging from early intervention and digital literacy to vocational readiness, we have successfully empowered over 500 families across multiple states, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to learn and thrive.
Early Intervention and primary Education
Taking Best Practices Beyond the City
At Biswa Gouri Charitable Trust (BGCT), we believe that geography should not dictate a child's ability to learn. Our Outreach Wing is dedicated to taking early intervention services to rural pockets of the country where resources are often scarce.
Our outreach journey gained significant momentum through "Ek Prayas" (formerly Aadhar), a collaborative initiative supported by IDFC. While the project scope has evolved, the mission remains the same: to provide early intervention for children with developmental disabilities (such as Autism and Intellectual Disabilities) by collaborating with grassroots NGOs.
Our Ecosystem of Support
We do not just treat the child; we build a support system around them. Our model works on four pillars:

-
Empowering Teachers: We train partner NGO teachers to follow a structured school program for children aged 2 to 10 years, based on the best practices followed at BGCT. We aim to transform the perception of children often marginalized as "unteachable."
-
Supporting Parents: We help parents move from isolation to acceptance. Our counseling empowers them to integrate their children back into the family and society.
-
Strengthening NGOs: We guide our partners in collaborating with allied professionals and government bodies to access better resources.
-
Community Awareness: We support partners in hosting inclusive events and festivals to sensitize the local community.
Our Reach
Since piloting in Hospet in 2019, our footprint has grown significantly.

-
Partners: 5 NGOs in Karnataka and 3 NGOs in West Bengal.
-
Impact: We have brought about micro and macro changes in the lives of over 500 children and their families.
